Larry Michael Smith DDS, MAGD
Dr. Smith's career path was to be an architect. In high school, biology really interested him more than building tall buildings. A natural blend of the two is to be the architect of someone's oral health. At age 24, he graduated with honors from the University of Tennessee College of Dentistry. After a two-year tour of duty in the Air Force as a dentist at SAC headquarters, and enjoying the country life around Omaha, he and his wife Marilyn, decided to start a practice in Dayton, Tn. That was in 1976 and the success he and his family has enjoyed is only surpassed by the relationships created with people who really appreciate the value brought to their lives by the practice he, his family, and staff have created.
Dr Smith and his wife Marilyn reside in Dayton. They have one son, one daughter, and 4 grandchildren. He enjoys the outdoors, hunting, hiking, and fishing.
Dr Smith was well trained in all the disciplines of general dentistry through a specialty rotation at SAC. This gave him a great appreciation for the knowledge of others and the insatiable desire to advance his professional knowledge and skills to a very high level. In 2009 he was honored with Mastership status in the Academy of General Dentistry, and will soon be honored with the Lifetime Learning and Service Recognition from the Academy also. He has well over 2000 hours of documented continuing education, and continues to add hours where valuable.
