CEREC

CEREC
is an advanced dental technology that is utilized for the restoration of decayed, cracked, or chipped teeth.  CEREC can create full crowns, inlays, onlays, and veneers. To insure a very precise restoration, our CEREC laboratory in Evensville crafts a restoration in less than a day or two.  CEREC restorations are made of all materials available.    The most beneficial feature of receiving a CEREC restoration is that it is accomplished with the most advanced and accurate dental laboratory technology.

Procedure

The procedure for placement of a CEREC restoration is very simple in concept.  The first step is to remove all decay from the tooth.  The doctor will then shape the tooth in preparation and take a digital picture.  Once this image is captured, the tooth will appear on a computer screen in 3D.  This will allow the doctor to examine and export the restoration prescription to any dental lab that receives digital files.  Once the design is completed, the CEREC lab will mill the restoration.  At that point a very skilled and experienced dental technician will customize the restoration on a die of the prepared tooth.  This, in our experience, is better than can be done with the normal one-appointment workflow.

Our office has had the Cerec systems since 2002. With technology rapidly changing, we update our equipment and software often to insure we are providing patients with the best available care.  Our current unit, the Primescan Connect, is the latest technological advancement in imaging.
